How To Make It
JUST ADD WATER FOR A CLASSIC DISH
- Open contents of bean package, rinse and sort beans, place in medium sized pot. Add 5 cups of water.
- Bring beans to a boil for 10 minutes, then stir in contents of seasoning packet.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer, stirring occasionally for 1 ½ hours or until beans are tender. Add water, if needed, in 1 cup increments.
RED BEANS DONE RIGHT!
Make It Meaty: Pre-cook and add sliced, smoked sausage or chopped ham when adding the spice packet.
Make It Creamy: For creamier texture, mash a portion of the beans when tender
